Writing Enquiry Unit
Our Central Idea for our first unit of writing is:
Using a variety of types of sentence and punctuation features can
make our writing more appealing to the reader.
Our lines of Inquiry we will be exploring are:
° FORM: What simple, compound and complex sentences are like
° CAUSATION: Why we need to use commas
° FUNCTION: How to use semi-colons
Our genre focus this term will be story writing.
We have already examined and begun practising a more sophisticated way of writing stories that can grab and maintain a reader's interest.
We will be applying what we have learnt about different types of sentences and the use of commas and semi-colons to our story writing.
